Divorce records are public records in Florida and any information is available to the general public. Newspapers may or may not print this information. There are two types of marriage dissolutions one is dissolution of marriage, and the other is the simplified dissolution of marriage.
In a simplified dissolution of marriage, you must meet eligibility requirements and you or your spouse must have lived in Florida for at least six months. You may use this form of dissolution of marriage if you and your spouse agree that the marriage cannot be saved, there are no children involved, and you and your spouse have worked out how the two of you will divide the things you both own.
If you cannot meet the above criteria, you must file a regular petition for dissolution of marriage and possibly use an attorney.
If you are looking for records of a divorce, contact the Clerk of the Court. You can contact the Volusia County Courthouse at 386-736-5908 or the Daytona Beach Courthouse Annex at 386-736-6083.
